Meet Your Coach, Gemma
Owner and Founder of Better Than Yesterday, Gemma O’Brien knows a thing or 2 about strength sports and what it takes to be a high level athlete. Being a part of the fitness industry for over 12 years, she has worked as a CrossFit Coach, Olympic Weightlifting Coach and Personal Trainer for over 11 years and in that time worked and managed in over 16 gyms Australia wide. She has experience competing in just about every strength sport there is – Bodybuilding, Powerlifting, CrossFit, Strongman(woman) and more recently Olympic Lifting. She recently competed for Australia and travelled to Montreal, Canada in 2019 at the World Masters Weightlifting Championships, and came home with a silver medal for her country.
Gemma’s specialties as a coach are wide spread and varied, but she has extensive experience and offers coaching and programs in the following areas both online and face to face:

- Technique and Competition Preparation (Olympic Weightlifting and Powerlifting)

Her passions include her work, spirituality and mindset work including reading about Quantum Physics and meditating, her fur babies – Baxter her dog (a crazy Boston Terrier X Beagle) and Mooshoo her cat. She loves tattoos, and has quite the collection, is reknowned for her ever changing hair colours and styles, and cannot live without coffee. She lives in Sydney, Australia on her own with her fur babies.
Gemma has recently taken her expertise to the online space and is now offering mentoring and training programs both online and in a face to face Personal Training environment in her studio gym in Sydney, Australia.
